The Spectrum
Philadelphia, PA ~ February 10/11, 2011

Contrary to nearly every newspaper article found online, the Spectrum was not demolished on November 23, 2010. A Philly-style ballyhooed event took place where sports greats were on hand to ceremonially begin the demolition process. Sadly it took over 10 swings of the wrecking ball to even make a dent in the building. After about 20 minutes of work, during which time much of the crowd left, the hole you see above was produced. Then the wrecker stepped out, and they called it a day. Proper demolition began later.
