GOBLIN VALLEY STATE PARK
Utah ~ March 28, 2007

Located not far from Hanskville, Utah, Goblin Valley can be visited if you are traveling between Capitol Reef NP and Arches NP. A bizarre landscape of water-crafted features that was "discovered" in the 1920s by cattle ranchers who thought he formations resembled mushrooms. One need not strain the imagination to see the facial characteristics in some of the "Goblins."

A Kindred Spirit. This fellow's flash went off a split second after I snapped my own shutter.

Notice the similarity?
Most of the goblins here are no taller than fifteen or twenty feet high; many are smaller.
